Explain electrostatic precipitation and photocopying.

A precipitator charges particles and uses fields to collect them on plates. A photocopier creates a charge pattern that attracts toner, transfers it to paper and fixes it. Both control forces on charged particles; they do not work by magnetically attracting every kind of dust.
