Question based on a textbook side note
Why can electric field lines not cross, and are they particle tracks?
خطوطِ برقی میدان ایک دوسرے کو کیوں نہیں کاٹتے اور کیا یہ ذرات کے راستے ہیں؟
Solution & explanation
At a point a nonzero field has one direction, so crossing lines would assign two conflicting directions. Lines show the instantaneous force direction on a positive test charge. They are not generally actual particle trajectories, because velocity, inertia and other forces affect motion; a line is not the same quantity as electric flux.
