Practice question from chapter text
Why does a hot-air balloon rise?
گرم ہوا کا غبارہ کیوں اٹھتا ہے؟
Solution & explanation
Heating air in a balloon that communicates with the atmosphere reduces its density at approximately ambient pressure. Buoyant force equals the weight of displaced outside air. It rises when that force exceeds the combined weight of enclosed air, envelope and load; heated air is not massless.
