Why do solids, liquids, and gases expand when heated? Explain with examples.
ٹھوس، مائع اور گیس گرم کرنے پر کیوں پھیلتے ہیں؟ مثالوں سے وضاحت کریں۔
Solution & explanation
Heating usually increases particle kinetic energy. In solids, stronger vibrations and asymmetric bonding increase mean spacing; particles themselves do not grow. Liquid molecular spacing usually increases. At constant pressure, gas particles need a larger volume to maintain the same pressure. Examples are rails, thermometer liquid and a warmed balloon.
